Reasons why I bought it?

For street photography I decided 21mm was too wide after testing the Leica 21mm Super-Angulon. However, I still wanted to experiment with landscape photography and so I considered buying a Leica CL and pairing it with a 21mm Color-Skopar and slide film.

Reasons why I sold it?

First of all, I eventually decided that it would be too much of a hassle to carry a second Leica body around just for landscapes, when I didn't travel much at the time. I also wasn't into landscape photography as much as I first thought. However, I still considered keeping the lens just as something to play around with every now and then. The images the lens made on film were great, and it was a pretty fun small lens! But after some time, I just couldn't handle the build quality of the lens anymore, and decided to sell it.

General Thoughts

The build and feel of the lens was not good (to me). The focus was not very smooth, but my main issue was with the aperture ring. The way it was designed makes it wobble, and somehow the aperture clicks just feel extremely cheap. This is not the case for most Voigtlander lenses, which have excellent build quality for their price, but it was the case for this lens (and it's almost identical 25mm sister). In terms of sharpness, contrast and colour though, it was actually pretty good. I only shot it on film, on which it renders very nicely.

Nevertheless, the feel of this lens was bad enough for me to never want to use it. As a result, it sat on a shelf for a few months until I sold it.
